The White Feather Salon is owned and operated by Carla Trotter, with over 20 years of experience as a hairstylist and owner. Her former salon “Abba Industrial Hair Co”. has evolved into The White Feather Salon, and wait till you hear about her journey.

Abba Industrial Hair Co. was started over 20 years ago after the passing of Carla’s father. She named the salon “Abba” meaning Father to honor his memory. This salon grew and Carla created a name for herself in the Parkland County area. The time came when Carla and her husband at the time decided to adopt a beautiful baby girl from Malawi, Africa. This amazing baby named Rayanna Hope Trotter changed their lives and brought Carla and her husband a lot of joy. Many people knew and heard about Rayanna’s story of adoption and coming home to this amazing Canadian Family. It was a story of hope for Carla, her family, friends, and people in the community. Sadly tragedy struck this family and shortly after her fifth birthday, her short life ended on this earth and she passed away.

Rayanna's short life had a huge impact on Carla and her family, this ripple effect hit the community and even reached Africa. Her family started a charity called “Rayanna’s Hope For Africa - Grandmothers to Grandmothers”. This Charity is facilitated by Grandmothers here in Canada, raising funds and assistance for Grandmothers in Africa. Many African Grandmothers are raising their grandchildren due to the death of parents from AIDS.

Carla and Rayanna had a special symbol that they shared while she was alive, it was a White Feather. This white feather had a special meaning between Mother and Daughter. After she left this earth, Carla would start getting random white feathers to appear in the strangest places. They would show up just when Carla needed a sign of hope or feeling the loss of her daughter, these feathers would come down from heaven to remind Carla that Rayanna was in a better place.

The White Feather Salon is in memory of Rayanna Hope Trotter, never forgotten and will always be alive in our hearts and minds. Whenever you see a white feather, be reminded that there is ALWAYS HOPE - NEVER GIVE UP!
